Description Life zones and habitat: Montane and subalpine (7800 to 12500 ft.); wet areas in meadows, bogs, streamsides.
Plant: Erect, smooth perennial up to 40 inches tall; weak, hollow stem.
Leaves: Pinnately-compound stem leaves with 7 to 9 lanceolate leaflets with blunt-toothed edges.
Inflorescence: Very small white flowers in 5 to 15 compound umbels about 2-1/2 inches across, each with 10 to 20 tiny blossoms about 1/16-inch across with 5 rounded petals.
Bloom Period: June to August.
