Description Life zones and habitat: Montane to alpine (7000 to 12500). Along streams and moist areas in meadows and slopes.
Plant: Erect perennial, simple or somewhat branched, slightly leafy stem 2 to 3 feet tall supporting flower cluster (umbel).
Leaves: Compound leaves, blades 2 to 8 inches long with finely cut secondary leaflets 5/8 to 1-5/8 inches long.
Inflorescence: Large numbers of very small flowers, less than 1/4-inch across and with 5 white petals, clustered in numerous groups, with long, narrow sepals beneath each.
Bloom Period: July to September.
