Description Life zones and habitat: Montane to Alpine; rocky slopes, tundra.
Plant: Short perennial less than 4 inches tall; sideways-growing, leaf and flower stalks reddish near bases.
Leaves: Thick, compound basal leaves about 1 inch or less long, once or twice pinnately-divided into pointed, dark green leaflets that are linear or narrowly elliptic.
Inflorescence: Compact, compound umbel 3/8 to 3/4-inch across with many tiny yellow flowers.
