Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills and montane; dry, sunny openings and disturbed areas.
Plant: Tall, fragrant, highly-branched biennial, 20 to 60 inches tall.
Leaves: Composite leaves divided into 3 finely-toothed leaflets.
Inflorescence: Many small, yellow pea-like flowers along a slender, arching raceme (spike).
