Description Life zones and habitat: Montane and subalpine. Moist meadows, streambanks.
Plant: Erect perennial 1 to 3 feet tall, usually single stems, sometimes branched upper.
Leaves: Basal leaves oval shaped and palmately 7-lobed, coarsely-toothed edges; stem leaves deeply palmately-dissected into several narrow lobes.
Inflorescence: Clusters of several white flowers up to 2-inches across in terminal racemes, each with 5 petals and central stamen column.
