Description Life zones and habitat: Montane to subalpine. Wetlands and streamsides.
Plant: Erect perennial 3 to 13 inches tall, but normally less than 6.
Leaves: Two shiny green opposite ovate-cordate or deltate leaves mid-stem, each from less than 1/2 to about 1+ inch across.
Inflorescence: Several to many small yellow-green to green or reddish-purple orchid flowers in a raceme 1 to 4 inches long at the top of the stem. Each flower about 1/8-inch across with 6 tepals.
