Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills to alpine; moist or dry ground, open to lightly wooded and disturbed areas.
Plant: Much-branched, open annual, 4 to 20 inches tall, red stems. Plants in these images are about 6 to 8 inches tall.
Leaves: Narrow, linear stem leaves up to 2-1/4 inches long, smaller upward.
Inflorescence: Very small, inconspicuous flowers, about 1/4-inch across with 5 white petals.
