Description Life zones and habitat: Montane, subalpine. Moist shaded locations in woodlands, meadows.
Plant: Erect perennial, 8 to 24 inches tall.
Leaves: Four narrow, linear to lanceolate stem leaves in a whorl, 1/2 to 1-1/2-inches long.
Inflorescence: Small, white four-petaled flowers, less than 1/4-inch across, in a terminal cluster.
