Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills to alpine. Sunny, dry areas, open wood, hillsides.
Plant: Perennial to 10 inches tall, usually 3 to 5 inches at altitude.
Leaves: Grass-like, stiff leaves, up to 3 inches long.
Inflorescence: Several blossoms in an open cluster with 5 white petals, 5 pointed sepals and 5 protruding stamens with pink anthers.
