Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills to alpine. Moist areas along streams, open areas, meadows.
Plant: Erect perennial 12 to 18 inches tall, multiple grass-like stalks.
Leaves: Long, basal, linear (long and narrow) leaves with parallel veins.
Inflorescence: Saucer-like flowers in racemes, each about 3/4-inch across, 6 white/cream-colored tepals, yellow-green concentric band around center.
