Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills and montane; open fields, roadsides, and other disturbed places.
Plant: Erect annual 20 to 32 inches tall, single stem branched near top.
Leaves: Compound leaves each with three slender lanceolate leaflets, 1 to 2-3/8 inches long.
Inflorescence: Clusters of many pink flowers in a terminal raceme each with 4 petals and 6 long stamens; seed pods 1 to 2 inches long.
