Description Montane and subalpine life zones, moist, forested areas; short, mat-forming dwarf shrub, leafless stems up to 6 inches tall; shiny oval to round leaves up to 1 inch long, edges may be toothed; paired, nodding flowers on hairy stems, narrow, bell-shaped, pink and white, 1/2-inch long.
