Description Life zones and habitat: Foothills to subalpine (6000 to 12000 ft.); moist areas along lakes and streams.
Plant: Erect or spreading perennial, thin, weak stem 2 to 10 inches long.
Leaves: Oblanceolate to elliptic, petiolate, opposite blades 3/8 to 2 inches long.
Inflorescence: White or pinkish flowers less than 3/4-inch across; 5 petals and stamens with white to lavender anthers.
Bloom Period: June to August.
