Description Life zones and habitat: Montane; dry, sunny locations in disturbed areas, clearings and roadsides.
Plant: Ereect or low-growing, prostrate annual or short-lived perennial, 1/2 to 2 inches tall, stems 2 to 10 inches long.
Leaves: Narrow linear, pointed fleshy leaves up to 5/8-inch long.
Inflorescence: Pink flowers less than 1/2-inch across, 5 oval petals becoming white near base, 5 pointed green/reddish sepals; six to ten yellow stamens.
Bloom Period: May to September.
