Description Life zones and habitat: Plains to foothills (4900 to 6500 ft). Introduced species found in disturbed areas, roadsides, etc.
Plant: Perennial vine with sprawling, winged stems, up to 6 feet long.
Leaves: Compound leaves with 2 leaflets, lanceolate to elliptic, 2 to 4-3/4 inches long, with tendrils.
Inflorescence: Clusters of 4 to 10 large, showy, broad pink pea-like blossoms about 1 inch across.
Bloom Period: May to September.
