Description Life zones and habitat: Plains to subalpine (3900 to 11400 ft.); dry, sunny, meadows roadsides and woodlands.
Plant: Perennial with a few to several ascending/spreading, smooth stems 6 to 32 inches tall.
Leaves: Narrow, linear stem leaves 0.2 to 1.2 inches long and less than 0.1 inch long.
Inflorescence: Multiple bright blue, saucer-shaped flowers on each stem, each about 1-1/2 inches across and with 5 petals and stamens.
Bloom Period: May to September.
