We were able to get an early start on the wildflower season this year, with a trip to Lower Cataract Lake on May 15. The road was closed, adding 2-1/2 miles to the hike. But the extra effort was worth it, with four new species found that morning. In late June, we decided to check out the wildflowers of Northeastern Colorado, and spent some time in Sterling and at Pawnee Buttes in the Pawnee National Grassland.
